Radiation protection considerations for architects

Architects must take many elements into account when specifying products for projects especially when dealing with Medical sites. It is important that radiation shielding is taken seriously in all environments where X-rays could possibly take place. Architects and specifiers will need to ensure that they choose the correct products for the job.

Size limitations, materials, finishes, architectural details, RPA suggestions, lead coverage methods must all be carefully analysed during the design of radiation areas.

Raybloc, can assist with these considerations. We have been working with architects over many years ensuring that the first stages of any build take into account the specification of radiation protection products.

Architects often need to think about lead lined materials when creating X-ray rooms, CT rooms and industrial radiation areas. This is where we come in, we can work with architects to ensure the right products are used for the job.

We have an innovative approach to product development by working closely with hospital estate departments and RPA (Radiation Protection Advisors) in areas such as new coming radiation technology, building regulations, and infection control standards.

All this has lead to a returning customer base with a high customer relationship with many contractors including us on their approved supplier list.
